Be Different
BE DIFFERENT
This has got to be one of my favorite dresses/overalls in my wardrobe. I will try not to wear it often because its so different that people will notice it and remember it if I do wear it often.
When I bought this dress, I wanted to bring it to Roperito Boutique so more people would enjoy such a unique piece. (One of my many titles at Roperito Boutique is Buyer.) Well, everyone even the sales person at the showroom told me not to do it because it would be such a hard sale. You have no idea how much I regret it! When I tried it at home I loved it so much. I will go back and try to get it, hopefully they still have it (fingers crossed).
I believe that when a piece is so different and unique you just have to have it, of course if its something your into even if you are not to sure. If you are attracted to it for some weird reason, get it don't doubt it.
As a sales person I often see how people are convinced by friends/family members not to get items they seem to love only because they are different. Just because your best friend can't see what you see, it doesn't mean you are not going to be able to style it and rock it. So my words to you are, buy it! Take it home, try it, style it. If you can't figure out how to style it look for inspiration. There are so many sources available that will not only teach you but help you develop your own style. If after that you can't style it, then you can always exchange it. Usually you have nothing to loose, unless its final sale and in most cases those are the best deals.
Be Different
I emphasize it again because I believe it comes with a lot of positive things (for lack of better words). One, you don't look like everyone else. Don't get me wrong I do like trends but the feeling of wearing something like this item that I don't see every day, is nice. I feel super comfortable in it which allows me to feel more confident. Two: You get creative. I see this as a very good thing because when I get creative I notice I am happier and more courageous maybe a little empowered and full of positive energy. Three: You are yourself! The most important of all.
Funny story with my mom again...When I showed this dress to my mom she told me it looked like a curtain, she kind of hated it. I didn't care and I got it! She saw it on me and she was so surprised. She definitely did not expect it to look good and she loved it.
