90 Day Challenge Recap
Ah so the 90 day challenge is finally over! I don't even know where to start talking about this. I have so. Any feelings inside.
I guess I can start by saying that it was for sure one of the best things I've done with my wardrobe. I loved it for so many reasons! This challenge allowed me to play with my outfits more, to be more adventures and definitely to wear things I normally don't. I loved that I became comfortable wearing certain pieces I always wanted to wear but never had the guts before because I was avoiding people's reactions since they were not the ordinary clothes you typically see on an everyday basis.
I normally don't care about what people think unless they are close to me but I felt like this challenge helped me care even less and encouraged me to be more me and it felt absolutely amazing.
As you may know I started this challenge because I was wearing a lot of the same clothes over and over and even though my closet is inundated with clothes. But also because I was uninspired to put together outfits the way I used to before. I didn't like the way I was feeling with my style during that time,I didn't like it,it didn't feel like me for some reason, but this challenge brought that back.i felt the creativity flowing and the empowerment/ encouragements with most outfits.I began to feel more confident and just felt like myself once again.
It was an bit of a love hate relationship with this challenge at times because I often found myself saving my favorite pieces for the end of it or for some other occasions. Something like, I didn't want to waste a great outfit on a not so interesting day, do you ever get the feeling? Well that was happening, and sometimes it was like a brain fart because there were days when I was just not feeling creative at all and couldn't really put an outfit together. i think we all have those days occasionally.
Another thing that I loved about this challenge was that I actually made myself wear many things I had in my closet for a very long time and I was no longer wearing. I absolutely loved most of my outfits with these pieces and I realized why I still have them in my closet. I think it's important to buy items that you area absolutely in love with even if they are not the latest trend. I believe that your personal style is way more important that having the latest trends because you will radiate confidence and happiness every time that you wear it. It will defiantly be harder to get rid off but your creativity with an item you love is greater at all times than the relativity you have with trendiest piece of the season, or at least that's my opinion.
Another thing I loved was mixing the old with the new. I feel like I could go on and on talking about this challenge but I will try to make it short from here on.
Now to the details about items I wore. I really wanted to count every top, dress sweater, jacket and pair of jeans I wore but I only counted the jeans and dresses as I put everything back in the closet. By the way one tip I can give you to achieve this challenge is don't put your clothes back in the closet once you wore it. This makes it so much easier to not be tempted to cheat because believe me even if the clothes is not in its place you will be tempted to wear those things you usually run to for comfort or when you are in a rush. Putting in a different place is key. I put it in my luggage bags and in other bags and didn't incorporate it back to my closet until I was done which is when I was trying to count it all. Ok back to that over the 90 days I wore 81 pairs of jeans/ pants, over 30 jackets and about 15 dresses, about 5 skirts and maybe 3 shorts. I didn't count tops or sweaters. Yes this ads up to more than 90 outfits because there were days when I wore two outfits for example during the day for work/ errands and at night to go on a date/ dinner/ holiday event.
Would I do it again? YESSS! I think I want to start a new challenge soon other wise I would do this one over again. Stay tuned for the next one and go and try this one out immediately. I highly recommend for now these are some of my favorite outfits during this challenge. Which are your favorite?
Let me know if you try it out, how it goes and if you like it.
Talk to you soon...
XOXO,
